While I don't know Ashlee's politics, it is rumoured that older sister Jessica (tuna or chicken?) has endorsed President Bush. (Gee, thanks.)
Plus, while I have NO proof to back this up, I've suspected that SNL has insisted on the lip-sync scenario ever since the infamous Sinead O'Connor incident.

Great video, thx! Our immediate reaction to seeing the story on Drudge was also "Who is Ashley Simpson"?? When I googled her earlier, I am positive the top result was that she is either hosting or performing on the Radio Music Awards later this month; that reference has now mysteriously disappeared. My thought earlier was "I bet they can her ass real quick!" Ya think?
I wouldn't be surprised if we hear her band beat her up after that embarassment last night.

This just about says it all on the state of the music industry today, trying to pass off a no-talent wannabe as a musician, because she has a famous big-sister. Miss Simpson most likely could not sing a note unless it was through a pitch-correcting Vocalizer, not to mention that walking off a gig is utterly unprofessional. Add to this the unmitigated arrogance of titling her very first record "Autobiography" (a title usually reserverd for people who have actually accomplished somthing), and you have today's worthless music biz in a nutshell.

The shame of this is that there are so many talented struggling artists out there performing live night after night...hoping for a record contract. This girl is handed an MTV show AND a record deal just because she's someone's little sister--and it's obvious that she has had no performing experience and little talent to go with it.
The usual flow is: have talent, perform your ass off in small venues, get noticed, get a record deal.
She's trying to do these things backwards and it isn't working.

So she lip synced, no big thing. As if that doesn't happen regularly, this time it was during a live performance on national TV that it went wrong. That alone doesn't tarnish Ashlee in my opion. What does however, is her pointing the finger at her band. That's low...immature. A poor attempt to save face. If you get caught lookin' like a F*ck up - fess up and move on - don't point the finger!
