Kerry Hecklers Get Coverage
Big props to NBC's Carl Quintanilla for actually covering the protesters at Kerry's campaign stop today in Ohio. So far as we can tell Carl managed to scoop even the unfiltered C-SPAN, which means that a *gasp* NBC reporter actually went out of his way to cover an event rather than rubber stamp a video press release.
We've edited down tonight's NBC Nightly News report to show the portions dealing with the protesters:

Incredible.. I can't believe this was shown on NBC News. I guess they were part of the campaign that got fired when Joe Lockhart was brought in.

It would have been great had the report mentioned that at least the opposition is allowed to attend Kerry/Edwards events, whereas Bush/Cheney events are closed to all but supporters.

Doesn't look like they were allowed in the event.. Look, they're outside the barricades

A balanced news story from NBC? I'M SHOCKED! You guys better stop that or you'll get better ratings!

You obviously havent been around to see for yourself that the kerry supporters are out in force at Bush rallys. We ran into a small group of them this weekend. Now that I think of it maybe they were not kerry supporters just usual anybody but bush crowd.

compare kerry's crowd with 18,000 or so who show up for Bush.

WOW! This is on NBC? And did anyone notice that the guy in the United Mine Workers Union shirt is SHOUTING DOWN the Kerry woman??
As Fred Sanford would say, "I'm Coming, Elizabeth!" (Grab heart)

We all should be nicer to each other.

Pretty Blanket Statement. I was at the Bush Rally here in Phoenix. It was 115 Degree's and we had to wait outside for over an hour to get in, NOBODY Left. It was a packed house in the Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The coliseum management stated that they had more people in the building than showed up For the SUN's Championship games!

Funny how Kerry's supporters like to resort to violence to get their message across. Unemploy Kerry in November America! Not like he's been working for the past six months anyway.

Actually there must have been some protesters in the event itself because Kerry answered some of their shouts. You don't see that in this edited down version but you can read about it elsewhere. Had that been a Bush/Cheney rally, they would have been hauled off before they got two words out.

OK, the only thing I want to comment on is the lady's comment that she "hates what we stand for."
When did this become part of life "hating what someone stands for". I thought this was AMERICA where we can disagree and have different view points, but to listen to the Kerry boosters, they are all "taking this" while the Bush boosters are "forcing" our views on people. What about the THOUSANDS in New York? Also, was this a private venue? NO, it was a city street, and I agree that the Bush supporters were BEHIND the barricades, but even there it would be IMPOSSIBLE not to hear them unless you were DEAF! So Kerry had to respond or appear weak! As for the Kerry backers being "hauled off", that was at the REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION, for crying out loud! These people did not have any credentials to get in, meaning therefore that they entered MSG ILLEGALLY! You would be forcibly removed from any event at MSG if you entered the building w/o a ticket, right?
