Hey Man, Nice Shot

Scott Johnson posted yesterday that Dan Rather was spotted on a plane headed to Dallas. James Rose of the Dallas Fox affiliate KDFW must be a Powerline reader, because he was right there waiting when Dan stepped out of baggage claim:












KDFW's James Rose: Do you feel like you were duped at all?

Dan Rather: I'm very glad to see you. Do you feel like you were duped at all by the way? Working for Fox as you do -- do you feel that way?


Ironically, James Rose and his crew have pulled off the trademark 60 Minutes ambush, which always seems to leave the focus of a story looking quite guilty.

It would have been nice to hear from Mr. Rather if he felt he'd been duped.

Of course we weren't told by Mr. Rather of the two other document experts who had warned CBS that they had several concerns about the memos, and weren't prepared to vouch for their authenticity. (Video)

CBS dismissed two out of three document experts that they hired, and went on air without disclosing the disputed nature of the memos.

It would appear that at the very least Dan was willingly duped.

But we'd like to hear him say that.
