We know one thing for sure. Either the big media journalists report the truth and Kerry loses the election, or they report the lies and Kerry wins the election, but their viewers and readers get so turned of, they stop watching, reading the news and these journalists will ultimately lose their job.

Thank you for presenting this interview. Isn't it curious that Rather in his responsibility as a journalist, doesn't ask the rest of the questions?
Like:
Why won't Kerry release his records?
Did Kerry fufill his Reserve requirements?
Did they include meeting with the North Vietnamese?
What was ever done about Kerry's admission of war crimes?
Why is his honorable discharge dated 2000? What kind of discharge did he get before? Did Clinton fix this for him?
Why won't Rather deal with the considerable mountain of evidence provided by the Swiftees?
Rather is not a journalist, he is a Democratic shill, and part of a fifth column residing in the Fourth estate.

Just watched the CNN interview with Mr. Rather. I must say he reminded me of all those kids I have either raised or been a mentor to (Little League, BSA) when they got caught in a lie, large or small, and tried to talk their way out of it by changing the subject, smiling a lot, shifting their eyes, etc. Rather looked like he couldn't catch his breath. He looked scared if I've ever seen it. JP

This is a transcript of a report aired on CNN Friday, September 10th. The transcription is from the interview as viewed from www.dailyrecycler.com. It took me an hour to transcribe this 4 minute, 29 second report.
My observation: Dan Rather and Old Media still don’t get it. He is still standing by the authenticity of the forged documents. Notice his attempt to deflect the issue of the forged documents to one of the story CBS was trying to tell using the forged documents.
DAN RATHER and a reporter, presumably from CNN, and another individual who may or may not be a reporter referred to as BYSTANDER.
DAN RATHER: The story's true. The story is true. And the questions raised in the story are serious and legitimate questions. The questions are. Did Lieutenant Bush refuse a direct order from a military superior in a time of war? That's question one. Question two. Was he suspended for not, for failure, in the words of (inaudible), for failure to perform up to the standards of the US Air Force and the Texas Air National Guard? That's number two. Three. Did he ever take the physical that he was ordered to take by his military superior or if he didn’t take that physical why did he not take that physical? I want to emphasis, you know, I stand behind my president in a time of. We're in a time of war and I stand behind my President. Ah. There is no joy in reporting such a story. But my job as a journalist is not to be afraid, and when we come with facts and legitimate questions that are supported by witnesses and documents, which we believe to be authentic, to raise those questions no matter how unpleasant they are. I do want to underscore with you that the White house, which took their shots at us today, uhm, the Bush-Cheney campaign took the shots at us. They have not answered the question of did or did not the President obey a direct order from his military superior while he was a Lieutenant. Did he or did he. Was he or was he not suspended for failure to meet performance standards of the Air Force and the Texas Air National Guard? If he didn't take the physical, why didn't he take the physical? uh. Also, one of the questions that is out there is where is the efficiency report every officer, particularly a flying officer, is supposed to have a yearly efficiency report, there is no such report for the last year. I emphasis again there’s no joy in asking these questions but I think these are legitimate questions, I stand buy our story.
REPORTER: Does it concern you when?
DAN RATHER: Let me ask. Did you have a question or do you just want to listen?
BYSTANDER: I just want to ask how you feel about it? Like. You know.
DAN RATHER: I feel terrific. ha ha.
BYSTANDER: But how do you feel about the whole investigation.
DAN RATHER: What investigation.
BYSTANDER: We read that CBS is now having and internal investigation.
DAN RATHER: Where did you read that? You should stay away from rumor mills. You know.
BYSTANDER: Well that’s.
DAN RATHER: Where did you read it?
BYSTANDER: They said it in the Washington Post article.
DAN RATHER: No, they didn't say it in the Washington Post article. Not an internal investigation. I don't want to argue with you. You were asking on the basis of rumor and I'm trying to say to you that, um, you know the Internet is filled with all kinds of rumors, and I like a good rumor as well as the next fellow, but it's important to recognize what's a rumor and what's a fact. Um. And sometimes the rumors are true. In this case they're not. There is no internal investigation. uh. I am happy in my work as I hope you can see. I'm proud of our story. I'm proud of CBS News. I'm proud of the team I work with. Stand with them completely. I appreciate the sources, uh, who took risks to authenticate our story. So, one. There is no internal investigation. Two. Somebody may be shell-shocked but it is not I and it's not anybody at CBS News. And you can tell who's shell shocked by the ferocity of the people who are spreading these rumors, in my judgment. Now, I'm sorry. I just wanted to be fair to.
REPORTER: When there’s significant evidence that those documents may have been forged or created at a later date, um, do you think there is any requirement, or are you considering any kind of apology or retraction on that report.
DAN RATHER: There is lots in that question. Number one. I believe, I know that this story is true. I believe the witnesses and the documents are authentic. We wouldn't have gone to air if they had not been. ah. There isn't going to be. There's no. What did you say? An apology?
REPORTER: Any kind of retraction or …
DAN RATHER: Not even discussed. And, nor should it be. I want to make it clear to you if I haven't made it clear to you. I want to make it clear to you if I have not made clear to you that this story is true and that more important questions than how we got the story. Which is where those who don't like the story would like to put the emphasis. The more important question is what are the answers to the questions raised in the story, which I just gave you earlier? Sorry did you have anything else?
BYSTANDER: Thank you. Thank you very much.
DAN RATHER: Nice to see you.

If this interview does not prove the blantant bias of Rather and 60 minutes, then I really don't know what does. What a joke. I think it's very sad when journalists(if you want to call Dan that), sink to new lows just to try and get their candidate elected. I'm not surprised though. Afterall, Rather did say he thought Clinton was an "honest man".
